Vintage Barbie Birthday Party

We had Ainsley's big 6th birthday party this weekend. The theme, of course was Vintage Barbie! Luckily, I have very girlie girls who love everything Barbie and dress-up! We had just a few of her church friends, and their moms, come to celebrate with us.

When the girls arrived, each girl got her own barbie t-shirt, made by Illeana's Bowtique!
You have to go and check out all her wonderful creations! Our guests also had their own tutu's, in black and pink, of course!

Our birthday girl had a special skirt from AdoraBelle Pettiskirts! She loves to twirl, and this adorable skirt does not disappoint! It is so amazing that my good friend commented, "Does this come in adult sizes!"
Next up...decorating their own cupcakes! My girl loves vanilla cupcakes, so I just did a very simple yellow cake with vanilla icing. The girls decorated their cupcakes with black and white Sixlets and pearl white gumballs. Sixlets are similar to M&M's, but a little easier on the pocket book and I love all the colors they come in!

It wouldn't be a Barbie party without a Barbie cake! I made this one and covered it with white chocolate fondant. I was so excited to find it already tinted in hot pink! I also found a fun new toy...sugar paper from Wilton. It comes in several different colors and deigns. I found this damask print at Hobby Lobby. I also made some Oreo Truffles...they are sinfully good!

We turned the living room into the "Beauty Bar" We had two girls to a table with a mirror for each one.
The Beauty Bar was full of necklaces, bracelets and rings (Oh my!). Every guest also had their own eyeshadow, (no sharing...this Momma is scared of pink eye!!!) lipgloss lipstick, and as much glitter spray as they could handle!

The girls looked ADORABLE all dolled up! I think they really had a lot of fun too...which is the entire point in doing all of this!

Last, but not least...what do we all want at the end of a hard day...that's right, a PEDICURE!
Each girl had a pretty pink pair of flip-flops to go with their freshly painted pink toes!

I set up a special area just for the pedicures with some super cute hot pink bath mats. They were such a great deal and now I have new bath mats for my girls bathroom! I also thought this may save my floor in case of an accident!

We had a wonderful time at the party and we were so excited that our guests seemed to have fun too!

At the end of the day, this is why I do it...just to see that pretty girl smile!!!

I want to thank my wonderful friend Heather from Pirates & Princesses for taking some great pictures! Go check out her blog...she is also on facebook!
